But how exactly did this celebration come about?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The first time the term \u201cBlack Friday\u201d was coined wasn\u2019t to refer to Christmas shopping but to a financial crisis. Who hasn\u2019t heard of Wall Street, Jay Gould and Jim Fisk? Due to trying to benefit from their actions on <strong>24th September 1869,<\/strong> the market fell into bankruptcy as they failed to reach their objectives in the end. It is for this reason that this day is called \u201cBlack Friday\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Another story related to the term \u201cBlack Friday\u201d has something to do with small American business\u2019. It has been said that, after a bad year of sales, a number of business\u2019 that were \u201cin the red\u201d increased the number of items on sale, helping them to reap the benefits after <strong>Thanksgiving.<\/strong> With this, business\u2019 went from being in the red to being \u201cin the black\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There are many theories though. There are some who believe that it originates from the day on which \u201cNew York Times\u201d used the adjective \u201cblack\u201d for the first time <strong>(on 19th November 1975)<\/strong> to refer to the chaos of traffic jams caused by the discounts available the day after Thanksgiving that year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This tradition reached <strong>Spain in 2010 with Apple<\/strong> and, since then, its popularity has grown with every passing year.
