In this latest post, we present an exclusive selection of the most delightful and secluded beaches on Ibiza, the white island, famed for its vibrant nightlife and paradisiacal beaches. Discover a more intimate side to this destination, a haven for anyone seeking to get away from the crowds and connect with the island.
Cala Olivera
Also known as Cala Salada, this is an unspoilt cove, backed by a pine forest and bathed by crystalline waters with emerald hues. The cove is normally quiet and is known for its discrete atmosphere. This is a truly exclusive spot, often left out of tourist guides due to its access, which puts many visitors off. Nearby is another tiny beach known as Cala d’Espart, with a rocky access and dotted with several traditional llaüt boathouses, which is also perfect for enjoying a relaxing dip. This cove is not far from the home of the famous filmmaker Roman Polanski.
Cala Llentrisca
Nestling in the municipality of Sant Josep de Sa Talaia, Cala Llentrisca is a haven of calm tranquillity. You’ll be enchanted by the unspoilt setting of crystalline waters, ideal for diving and admiring the wealth of sea life. Backed by a landscape of cliffs and pine trees, this cove is the perfect natural spot for relaxing and forgetting the stresses and strains of everyday life.
Cala d’en Serra
Situated in the far north of the island, Cala d’en Serra is a corner of Ibiza where nature can be felt in all its essence. Backed by cliffs and pine groves, this small, unspoilt cove boasts crystal-clear waters that are ideal for snorkelling and discovering the marine life that lives in the depths. The naturally sheltered setting makes this the perfect place for unwinding and connecting with the island’s stunning natural beauty.
Atlantis (Pedrera de Cala d’Hort)
Nestling in Cala d’Hort Nature Park is Atlantis, a unique paradise, also known as La Pedrera. This former sandstone quarry, situated on the coast of the Cala d’Hort Nature Reserve, is perfect for lovers of hiking. In the past, this quarry supplied the stone that was carried by sea to the capital and Sant Antoni. In fact, part of Ibiza Town’s Renaissance walls were built with sandstone from Cala d’Hort. Access to this cove is via a walk of around thirty minutes down a sandy cliff, which affords spectacular views of this unspoilt stretch of coastline.
Cala Xarraca
Cala Xarraca, situated between Portinatx and Cala Benirrás, is part of the municipality of Sant Joan de Labritja. It’s one of Ibiza’s most aspirational beaches due to its stunning natural setting, crystalline waters, and the sense of calm and silence. Although it is fairly well known among tourists, especially those travelling with the family, it continues to conserve its natural, unspoilt scenery. The only amenities are a restaurant and a car park situated not far from the cove. One of the reasons for the popularity of this cove is the famous swing perched over the water. This has made it viral on Instagram and is one of the main reasons why people visit the beach.
Es Canaret
Close to Cala Xarranca, we find Es Canaret. For many years, this exclusive and secluded cove, was off bounds to visitors, as it could only be accessed through a house with a tower standing close to the coast. Recently, however, the owners have created an access that enables bathers to reach the shore easily. This cove is noted for its turquoise waters and sea beds, which alternate between sand and rocks, whilst on the shore stand a number of boat huts.
Punta Galera
Situated on Ibiza’s west coast, close to the town of Sant Antoni de Portmany, Punta Galera is a magnificent site boasting breathtaking panoramic views and crystalline waters. Although it is not a typical beach, the rocky setting and natural platforms have made it popular among visitors and locals alike seeking a quiet spot in which to relax and spend time by the sea in a unique and truly fascinating setting.
