THE 10 BEST COVES IN IBIZA
Ibiza is much more than endless nights of partying and dancing. It is the island of light, hidden coves and a turquoise sea. A paradise for lovers of the coolest summer that is spread over more than 500 km2 and its 210 km of coastline soak up the sun. Along the coastline, you will find beaches that will make you forget the world and enjoy unique these moments. There are many coves and all of them are beautiful, but there are some that have something extra special that makes them a must visit.
Cala Conta – The picture of complete relaxation: a beach made up of fine white sand that penetrates the crystal clear waters and that rocks slightly with the small waves. In the summer it’s almost impossible to find much space but its atmosphere is always excellent. Perfect to go with the kids or to enjoy as a couple. It is located in the municipality of Sant Antoni de Portmany and on its horizon is a small islet that makes it unmistakable. Many locals know it as Cala Comte.

Ses Salines – One of the most famous among all the beaches on Ibiza along with the exquisite Playa d’en Bossa. It is one of those places that has to be seen and enjoyed with the lively and festive atmosphere of the island. It is common to find celebrities bathing in its turquoise waters and sunbathing on its shore. There is a parking area next to the beach… but given the large influx of people who come to bathe here in summer, it is often difficult to find a place if you do not arrive very early.

Es Cavallet – lthough it has a mix of visitors, it is best known for being a naturist beach and LGTB environment. It is one of the longest in Ibiza and is located in the south of the island, near the area where you can take the detour to Ses Salines. Its waters are crystal clear and there is enough room for everyone. Do not let its accumulation of seaweed put you off: it is a beach with a very pleasant atmosphere and a beach bar where you will be able to enjoy many great moments.
Sa Caleta – One of the most characteristic and unique coves on Ibiza due to its rare reddish colour. The cove is only 80 metres long and features a combination of areas of rock and sand. Here there are hardly any services, hammocks or umbrellas, which makes it a small refuge away from the colonisations of tourists. Ideal for escaping from the hustle and bustle in its incredible waters..

Cala Portinatx – This small cove on Ibiza is only 30 metres in length but it is a little piece of coastal paradise to the north of the island, on which you can hide from the stress and noise of day to day life and submerge yourself in the calm of Ibiza. Surrounded by vegetation and with clean waters of spectacular clarity, it is a comfortable cove to go to early and spend the whole day, lying in the hammock and occasionally bathing.
Cala Llenya – Its greatest charm is that it has a beautiful Mediterranean pine forest that allows bathers to escape the sun during the most intense hours of the day and enjoy those wonderful beach naps that one dreams of all winter. It is also a cove with excellent services since it offers restaurants and showers. Yes, it can be wavy, even on calmer days. It is located in the town of Sant Carles, very close to Santa Eulària des Riu and the famous Es Canar

Es Canar – It is impossible to make a list of the best beaches and coves on Ibiza and not mention this family friendly beach. It is one of the most well-known for its comfort and its relaxed atmosphere. Here locals, tourists, adults, children, couples and groups of friends all enjoy without problems. It is wide, sandy and has the advantage that there are a number of hotels and accommodation options in its surroundings.
Cala d’Hort – Located very close to Sant Josep de Sa Talaia, it is one of the most beautiful coves that you can visit on Ibiza. A magical corner overlooking Es Vedrà. The beach is fully equipped to spend the whole day relaxing by the sea: sun loungers, umbrellas, restaurants and beach clubs where you can party and enjoy good vibes after the sun goes down. There is parking next to the beach but it is recommended that you still try to get there early because it gets very busy
Cala d’Hort
Cala Tarida – One of the most family friendly beaches on Ibiza, with all kinds of services so that you can organise a whole day mixing sun, sea and relaxation, sport and fun for all ages. It is also one of the busiest in summer because of the comfort and quantity of services it offers. It is a sandy beach with small waves and deep waters.
