Spring and autumn are the best time to enjoy outdoor sports in the Mallorcan countryside. Even if it might be hot, the temperature allows you to plan entire days of walking, walking or cycling. If you are fond of cycling, then you should know the following routes.
For its kilometres of mountainous and flat terrain, Mallorca is the destination of European cycling teams, the place where elite cyclists prepare the season before the Tour de France or Giro d’Italia. If you go out on the roads of Mallorca you can even share table in one of the typical village restaurants.
Mallorca has 1,250 km of routes along small roads and trails. Some will take you to beautiful beaches, following the coast; others will take you up to the Serra de Tramuntana where you will explore the beauty of mountain villages that look out over the Mediterranean from dizzying heights. All these routes have a special charm.
In spring, the fields are in bloom with the almonds and the poppies, painting everything red and white on a bed of intense green. The areas, which you can visit, are full of beauty and nature. Whether you choose the mountains or beaches.
The landscapes you can discover are a real ode to nature, both in spring and autumn. And, of course, no matter if you choose mountain or beach! A special tour that will take you through Santanyí, the south of Mallorca, very close to the symbolic beach of Es Trenc. It is a 4 hour (40 km) route and your bicycle should be light as there will be areas where you will have to climb and descend stairs and paths that skirt the cliffs. On the route you will be glued to the coast and you can bathe in some of the most beautiful coves on Mallorca.

The route Campos-Artá leaves from Campos, and passes through Santanyí and other areas such as Cala Llombards, Pontás viewpoint, Cala Figuera (here you can get something to eat while enjoying the tranquillity), S’Amarador beach, Mondragó Natural Park, Porto Petro and Cala d’Or.
Another simple route goes from Palma to the Serra de Tramuntana. A 60 km route but without major ascents (there are only 3 notable ascents with less than a 10% incline). The route starts in Palma up the Coll de Sa Creu and passing through Calvià, Capdellà, the wonderful Galilee, Puigpunyent, Esporles and the returning to Palma. We recommend taking a good picnic and stopping to eat in Esporles where there are numerous restaurants and traditional taverns with rich pambolis.
