… I was shocked by that sunset of August by Morocco’s coast, where I could make out the civil ceremony of a couple who had decided to celebrate their wedding on the beach.
The staging was set a few metres from the Mediterranean Sea, with off-white chairs, a white carpet and an arch where the bride and the groom would say their votes in front of a stunning sea view. The blue sea was shinning in all its splendour that day and we could hear the smooth roar of the waves breaking against the breakwater.
As guests were walking to the beach from the hotel’s garden to start the event, their faces reflected the amazement at the beauty of the surroundings and landscape. And at that very moment I decided that if I got married, it would be with an unforgettable ceremony such as that one.
Who has not ever dreamt of such a special and romantic wedding? Preparing a wedding on the beach is not complicated, but it might be daring if we do not plan all the details:
The place: You are probably thinking of an unspoilt and isolated cove where to have a relaxing wedding. But you should take your guests’ comfort into account. It is better to choose an establishment specialised in the organisation of weddings near a beautiful beach, so that guests may have access to a toilet, you can have a B plan in case of rain or bad weather and you do not need the city council permission.
The moment: If you get married in the middle of summer, it is better to schedule it in the evening. The weather will be milder, there will be less people on the beach and the sunset by the sea will make the moment a magic experience.
The decoration: there is no better setting than the sea and a sunset, so the decoration has to be simple, for example an arch decorated with flowers or fabrics that create an ethereal effect when moved by the sea breeze.
The details: walking on the sand with high heels is very uncomfortable, but if the event is planned carefully it will be a success. In case you have not warned your guests to surprise them with the stunning setting, we recommend you set a corner near the sand where they can leave their shoes, with a kit of wipes so that they can clean their feet before putting their shoes on again.

This corner may vary depending on the theme of your wedding, but pallets for hanging the high-heels are becoming a trend.
Guests may not want to take off their shoes and use that corner. So we recommend you to lay out a carpet from the entrance to the sand that melts with the carpet of the ceremony. Therefore guests will be able to walk without fear of getting dirty or getting their shoes buried into the sand.
If you expect a hot day, do not forget to install sun umbrellas, Chinese sunshades or even a corner with fans or hats.
