9 ACTIVITIES FOR FAMILY HOLIDAYS ON MAJORCA

 

There’s no doubt about it; Majorca is definitely one of the most popular holiday destinations, especially when travelling with the family.

  1. Sóller Railway

    His very special vintage train that runs on a narrow gauge track is guaranteed to delight adults and children alike. It will transport you back in time, taking you through thirteen tunnels ranging from 33 to 2,876 metres in length. You will also cross several bridges and the Cinc Ponts viaduct. It departs from Palma and goes through the charming town of Bunyola, offering all the family the chance to admire the succession of stunning landscapes before arriving in Sóller.

  2. Puig de Galatzó Reserve

    If your children love animals, then this will definitely be one of their favourite days out. This reserve provides a home for autochthonous wildlife. Whilst exploring the typical Mediterranean woodland you will come across swans, bears, ostriches and goats, and will also be able to spot birds of prey in the wild, such as eagles, vultures and falcons. Inside the park you can enjoy a cooling dip in the pools featuring waterfalls, take part in adventure activities such as the longest zip line on Majorca or simply enjoy a relaxing stroll.   3. Palma Aquarium

    Located in Playa de Palma, this aquarium reveals a fascinating marine world thanks to more than 8,000 animals and 700 different species, a packed programme of activities and truly thrilling experiences. Admire the diversity of sea life and enjoy a fun-filled outing that will take you back to your childhood.

  4. Katmandu Park

    Join the great adventure! The entire family will feel as if they are starring in an adventure movie. This theme park boasts more than 10 fun-filled attractions. Literally an ‘upside down’ journey, firing the family’s imagination and giving lovers of thrills and spills the time of their lives.

    Located in the town of Magaluf, this themed amusement park also has a 4D cinema.

  5. Aqualand

    If you fancy a break from the beach and a change of airs, then why not explore one of Majorca’s most amazing waterparks? Situated in El Arenal, it has attractions tailored for all ages, guaranteeing non-stop action and fun. Tickets can be bought in advance on the website.

  6. Boat trip to Cabrera Island

    Take a boat trip and explore Cabrera Island, Spain’s largest nature park and reserve. This magical trip will make your children think they have landed on Treasure Island! The trips normally depart from Colonia de Sant Jordi, just 6 minutes from our THB Sur Mallorca hotel.

  7. Coves del Drach (Dragon Caves)

    Majorca is famous for its beaches and coves, yet it also conceals a vast underground treasure. The Coves del Drach or ‘Dragon Caves’, located in the municipality of Manacor, just outside the town of Porto Cristo, boast one of the world’s largest underground lakes. Undoubtedly an unforgettable visit not to be missed.

  8. S’Albufera Nature Park

    If you’d like to spend time in contact with nature during your holiday, then make sure you find the time to visit S’Albufera, the Balearic Islands’ largest and most important wetlands. Visitors can explore this area via a number of fascinating itineraries: Colombars, Sa Roca, Camí d’Enmig – Ses Puntes and Cibollar.

    The park is open to visitors between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. between 1st April and 30th September, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from 1st October to 31st March.

  9. Bellver Castle

    The city of Palma is full of surprises. Just 20 minutes’ walk from the THB Mirador**** , stands an immense 14th century castle, the only circular one of its kind in Spain. Visitors will discover some fascinating historical facts as they journey back in time. And we’ll let you into a secret: admission is free on Sundays and for the under 14s.
